Old Schoolhouse Book Store
What began as a Schoolhouse in 1964 for children with intellectual disabilities in the Gosford region, has since been lovingly restored and is now a flourishing little second hand book store at the Vintage Fair retail precinct.
Tucked away at the back of the Upcycle shop space, the Old Schoolhouse Book Store has a huge range of books for readers of all ages and interests. Fiction, non-fiction, adventure, travel and a variety of children’s books. Proceeds go back toward projects and services that support people with a disability on the Central Coast. Great value and all in support of a worthy charity.
On Thursday mornings it’s on for young and old! Our lovely story teller, Mary, plays host to a very special Story Time and craft session, a popular activity for preschool aged kids. After story time, wander over to Fare Cravin’ cafe for morning tea. Huddle inside the cafe or bigger groups can enjoy the outdoor picnic tables amidst leafy surrounds. Convenient parking at the door.
Kids Story Time: Thursdays from 10am – free!
Do you have any books that you no longer have use or space for? Fairhaven gratefully accepts donations of books, especially children’s titles, to help keep our Book Store well stocked. Declutter and give the gift of story time to some one else in the community!
Drop off books at the collection area outside the Op Shop. 209 Brisbane Water Drive, Point Clare.
