Respite

Fairhaven's respite program provides planned respite packages for primary carers who are caring for a person with a disability. Our respite facility is located in Kincumber and offers meals and short term accomodation, supervision and recreational activities seven days a week.

The aim of the service is to provide respite support that meets the needs of the primary carer. The planned support is provided in an individual and flexible way giving time-limited breaks for the carers. The program also aims to provide a positive experience for the person with a disability.

With flexibility as one of our core aims, the Service Coordinator will discuss and plan with families what respite services will be of most benefit. Each individual's needs will be assessed prior to their entering the service.

To be eligible, carers must be primarily responsible for maintaining the person with a disability in their own home and located within the Gosford and Wyong local government areas.
