Residential
For the last 25 years Fairhaven has provided residential support for people with
intellectual disabilities. Today Fairhaven has over 140 people with an intellectual
disability employed at Fairhaven's three Business Services sites and our dedicated
staff provide permanent accommodation and residential support for 27 people with
different needs.
Fairhaven have three residential settings catering for people with different levels
of need.
Kincumber Lodge offers residential placements for approximately
sixteen (16) young people and adults with an intellectual disability and is situated
at Kincumber.
This facility is staffed by highly trained caring staff 24hrs per day, with the
philosophy of empowering people to help them reach their full potential and be active
community members. Residents attend work at one of Fairhaven's business services
sites or Day Programs throughout the week and Community leisure options on weekends.
The Lodge is set on several acres at Kincumber and has its own swimming pool and
plenty of room for residents to walk amongst the trees and enjoy the outdoors. Indoors
The Lodge has separate music room and a communal lounge equipped with Gym equipment
and a snooker table for all to enjoy and socialise together. Each resident has their
own room which can be decorated to their own tastes and likes. The atmosphere at
The Lodge is one of a large family with many residents having lived together for
some years.
Kincumber Cottage offers semi independent accommodation for four
(4) residents who work during the week and maintain an active social life on weekends.
The Cottage is staffed for several hours each week day evening to oversee cooking
and community activities and also for several hours on weekends. The Cottage is
on the same grounds as the Lodge which allows for independence and the security
of assistance if needed.Residents of The Cottage access the local community independently
and have a wide and varying social life dependant on their own likes and dislikes.
Residents are taught life skills in order that in the future they would be capable
to live independently or semi independently in the community. Residents are supported
by staff to achieve their own individual goals.
Bream Road Ettalong offers independent living for (4) four residents
at Ettalong. Drop in support monitors their well being and assists in financial
management and medical needs. The Bream Road residents are very much apart of their
local community accessing all services locally and participating in community activities.
Residents attend work at Fairhaven Services and travel independently to and from
work.
Fairhaven Respite
service offers 24hr care for young people
and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities by highly trained caring
staff at our centre in Kincumber. Respite programs are developed in consultation
with the client and their carers in order to meet their individual needs. Activities
are both centre based and in the community dependent on the clients preference.
