A proud history

Fairhaven Services has been engaging the Central Coast community since 1962. We are fortunate to have a group of foundation members who have worked long and hard to provide the support and funding to make Fairhaven the success it is today.

Fairhaven Services commenced its operations as part of the Challenge Foundation. The organisation has in the past enjoyed considerable success, largely due to the following factors:

Some key milestones achieved by Fairhaven include

    1962 – Commenced operations
1964 – Opened the first School for people with disabilities in Gosford
1981 – Opened Kincumber Lodge for 16 residents
1983 – Started employment via Business Services
1994 – Established Fairhaven Future Care
    1999 – Completed ‘Strategy 21’ strategic plan
    2002 – Opened 2000m² Tuggerah plant
2005 – Opened a respite centre in Kincumber
    2006 – 95 employees with a disability completed certificate 2 & 3 training in
                 warehousing and distribution
2007 – Established Registered Training Organization – Focus Oze Learning
2007 - Purchased the Central Coast Laundry

Fairhaven currently provides accommodation to 16 residents at Kincumber Lodge and 4 residents at Kincumber Cottage in an independent living environment. The residential division also supports 5 people living independently in a cottage at Bream Road, Ettalong.

An independent 4 bed respite cottage at Brennan Rd Kincumber provided respite to 86 people in the last financial year.

Over 150 employees with a range of disabilities are employed and supported by the Learning and Development division to co-package a range of products from dry foods to cosmetics and veterinary products to electric and computer components and accessories. Factory sites are located in the Tuggerah Business Park, West Gosford and Point Clare. A daily bus service is available to enable Fairhaven’s employees to access work and the community generally.
