Welcome to Fairhaven Services

Fairhaven Services is a social enterprise dedicated to ensuring that intellectual disability is no boundary for Central Coast people. We not only provide accommodation and care at our various residential sites around the area, but opportunities for people to earn a living through employment at our various businesses including Pacific CoPack, the new name for our successful packaging and assembly arm. Our disability enterprise is funded by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.

It is important for us all to realise that people with intellectual disabilities have much to contribute and Fairhaven Services ensures that the Central Coast has many opportunities for them to do just that.

More Clubs come through with CDSE's

Many thanks to the registered clubs of Halekulani Bowling Club, Ettalong Beach War Memorial and Everglades Bowling Club individually for providing CDSE funding to Fairhaven Services. Combined with the success last month of our Ettalong Memorial Bowling Club grant, so far the clubs have provided approximately $ 10,400. These grants designated for particular projects and items will provide new equipment, facilities and improve our operating capacity for the local people we support with disabilities. Some of these items we are now able to fund from these submissions include bench top sealers for our packaging facility, Pacific CoPack, new carpeting at our Bream Road, Ettalong Group Home and teaching resources such as flip charts and easels to train our residents.

While we still await with anticipation to hear from a few other CDSE submissions to be finalised by local club committees, we are pleased to be off to a great start for 2010 submissions.

“Fairhaven always enjoys a close relationship with our local clubs and we’ve benefited many times from their generous community support for our cause,” said Fairhaven Services’ Sue Chidgey.

“We are greatly appreciative to Clubs such as these each year, funds from CDSE applications are invaluable to assist us continue to provide the necessary services to local people with disabilities,” she added.

Trivial Pursuits

Fairhaven Services are holding a trivia night at Erina Leagues Club on Saturday 4 September and we need your participation. We have some fantastic prizes on offer and this is your chance to come and enjoy a night of fun, great company, not to mention some quirky trivia questions and for just a small $10 entry fee, you can’t resist!

The night’s proceeds will go towards funding a large permanent pergola at our new Bowen Street, West Gosford Pacific Co Pack factory that employs our residents. This new structure will significantly improve the environment in which our employees with a disability currently work.

We will be running a raffle and play a host of games including ‘heads n tails’ and ‘roll a coin’. The night will begin at 7:30pm and will include snacks, lucky door prizes and some brain-boggling trivia and with over one hundred prizes on offer, no one should go home empty handed!

At $10 per head or $100 for a table of 10, this is a wonderful opportunity to have a great night out and show support for a worthwhile local cause.

To book tickets for this charity fundraiser, contact Sue at Fairhaven on 43233566 or 0407757866 or email sue.chidgey@fairhavenservices.org.au.
